    Preston Nirattisai, MSCE, PE, is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California

    Preston’s personality is defined by a drive for quality. His philosophy is simple: If it’s not right, don’t do it. To him, quality isn’t just about meeting a requirement, it’s about ensuring everything is what it’s supposed to be, and at its best version that it can be. This commitment to excellence and the desire to uphold high standards is what led him to establish his own engineering firm.

    Since beginning his professional practice in 2011, Preston has built a diverse and robust portfolio. Working with both small and large-scale engineering firms, he gained rapid, hands-on experience spanning from small workshop sheds to multi-million dollar hospital complexes. During his time at KPFF, he honed his ability to solve complex problems where solutions were often unclear, guided by the mentorship of some of the nation’s leading structural engineers.

    Preston moved from Thailand to the United States at age eleven, eventually leading him to settle in Santa Clarita. He graduated Canyon High School, where he was a student conductor in his high school marching band, and later earned both his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and Master’s in Structural Engineering from CSU Northridge (following a few years spent learning to sail and crewing on tall ships, eventually becoming a First Mate).

    Today, he lives in Santa Clarita with his wife, Lynne, and their three children. Beyond his family, Preston’s passions include cooking, building steam trains, and crafting wooden boats. He remains a builder at heart, bringing the same dedication to both his work and his hobbies: the art of doing things right.
